Stacy Back

12 x 9" Canson cream-colored drawing paper. Wolff carbon pencil and gray wash.

Phil and Afro

I made this drawing of a certain local celebrity on a bad hair day from a newspaper photo
sometime in 2007. I've had it taped to the wall in my work space at my job and it
seems to get comments from co-workers. Image size roughly 10 x 8"; color pencil and
Tombow gray wash on animation paper.

Muslin Shirt

Wolff carbon B pencil on Strathmore 9 x 12" canvas paper. I've been trying out different papers and media,
and the carbon pencil leaves an interesting effect on this canvas-embossed paper. Almost like a wash.
Hard to get darks.

O'Brien Castle

This was done on site in June of '05 during a family trip to Ireland. The fifteenth-c. castle crowns the highest
point on the island of Inishere, the smallest of the Aran Islands in County Clare. I got off my rented bike
to sketch the ruined castle, while a crowd of Irish teens clambered over the ramparts. They were very
friendly and polite, and told us about their national game of Irish football, played with something that looks
like a hockey stick. 9 x 12", pen and wash on cream-colored paper in Cachet spiral-bound sketchbook.

Annie Oakley Two 8-26-8

Pigma Micron 05 pen on 9 x 12" Canson watercolor paper.
I was trying a new pen and paper for this sketch. The ink is
water soluble and can be turned into a wash with a brush
and water. Wish the drawing did more justice to the model...

Annie Oakley One 8-26-8

Our model had a fun costume. I wasn't satisfied with the drawings,
but wanted to post something to show that I have been drawing
a little. Fountain pen on 9 x 12" Strathmore canvas paper.
